Can the assistant spend my money?
Only if you allow it. By default it prepares a checkout and you pay on ShopItUp. To let it buy, you save a card, set your own limits — both start at $0 — and tick the box that lets that assistant buy for you when you connect it. You can pause all assistant buying in one click.
What if it buys something I didn't want?
Every purchase is emailed to you with a cancel link. Your card is only on hold for the first 24 hours: cancel in that time and the hold is released — nothing is charged. After 24 hours your card is charged and the store ships it; from then on the store's return policy applies.
What does ShopItUp see of my chat?
Only the searches and items the assistant asks us about — never your conversation. See section 3.1 of our Privacy Policy.
Which stores and countries?
Every store on ShopItUp in Canada, priced in Canadian dollars and shipped to Canadian addresses. An assistant can buy directly only from stores that accept assistant purchases, and not yet for delivery to Quebec; for everything else it hands you a checkout link. The full terms are in section 6A of the Terms of Sale.
